Tasti Products has recalled a range of its snack bars, peanuts, and snack balls after wire-like metal fragments were found in some products.

New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) is supporting the recall, warning that consumption could cause serious injury.

“Affected products have been removed from shelves,” said NZFS deputy director-general Vincent Arbuckle. “If you have any at home, don’t eat them. You can return them to the place of purchase for a refund. If that’s not possible, throw them out.”

The products were distributed to supermarkets and retailers across New Zealand, as well as in Australia, Fiji, India, and Singapore. Food safety authorities in those countries have been notified.

A full list of recalled Tasti products and batch numbers can be found here.

No injuries linked to the recall have been reported so far.

“As is our usual practice, NZFS will work with Tasti Products to understand how this happened and prevent its recurrence,” Arbuckle added.
