Sunshine Coast-based skincare and supplement company Organic Collagen Australia (OCA) is set to make its US debut, only six months after launching its first products.

The company uses what it says is the world’s only method that’s received an organic stamp of approval in the US and Australia.

The company’s pioneering method of collagen extraction uses 100 per cent Australian grass-fed and Certified Organic cattle.

Organic Collagen Australia’s co-founders, Fiona Dobbrick and Michael Buckley, described it as a “decades-long dream” to create a truly sustainable range of “high-value products” in the beauty and wellness space.

“We found a gap in the market to produce collagen ethically and organically – without the use of harsh chemicals traditionally used in collagen production and using only local Australian suppliers,” said Buckley.

He added the company’s collagen extraction process puts animal welfare, consumer health and sustainability at the front and centre.

US distributor TruLife – which sells at prominent retailers such as Costco, Walmart and Amazon – will help facilitate the sale of up to US$1 million in product sales within the first year.

OCA has also launched a range of products including serums, creams, masks and TGA-listed supplements.

Ahead of its expansion, the company has also launched an equity crowdfunding campaign via Birchal to allow anyone to buy a stake in the company.
