Better Beer parent Mighty Craft’s CEO and MD Mark Haysman has stepped down, effective July 3 and the company’s board has appointed Jess Lyons to replace him.
Mighty Craft’s brands include Better Beer, Jetty Road Brewery, Seven Seasons Gin, Kangaroo Island Spirits, Hills Cider, Fogthorn Brewery, Brogan’s Way, Slipstream Brewing and Mismatch Brewing.
Haysman described his resignation as a “very hard decision” but said it was an “appropriate time” to allow the board to guide the company through its next phase.
“Mighty Craft has made significant progress on its expansion and diversification strategy over the past few years.
“This has left the company well-placed to become a leading player in the beer and premium spirits markets,” he said.

Non-executive chairman of Mighty Craft, Chris Malcolm, thanked Haysman on behalf of the board and wished him for his future endeavours.
Lyons, meanwhile, has 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, project management and corporate governance and held general counsel roles at Carlton & United Breweries and Brick Lane Brewing Co prior to joining Mighty Craft.
