Carl Carrington has been appointed CEO of New Zealand King Salmon (NZKS), succeeding Graeme Tregidga who resigned last November.
Carrington has more than 30 years of industry experience and was the former GM of McCashins Brewery and the MD of Heineken-Lion Australia.
In recent years, he has focused on governance roles and was on the board of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Cawthron Institute and Mt Cook Alpine Salmon.
Mark Dewdney, chairman of NZKS, welcomed Carrington and said he brings a “wealth of executive and governance experience” to New Zealand King Salmon at a time when the company is “re-setting its strategic and operational focus” following a challenging period.
Of his appointment, Carrington said: “The future is exciting for NZKS as the world recognises the premium value of king salmon and the business looks to expand its operations over the coming years.”
