Japanese pre-mixed drink brand Kirin Hyoketsu has launched in Australia with the sale of its signature lemon-flavoured products.
Kirin Hyoketsu Lemon offers a refreshing blend of vodka, soda and frozen natural lemon juice packed in 330ml cans, each containing six per cent ABV and 116 calories.
The beverage’s distinctive lemon juice is “meticulously crafted” using the Hyoten Toketsu method – where the lemon juice is frozen to deliver a blend of sweet and sour notes without any lingering aftertaste.
Beverage company Lion – which is a subsidiary of the Japanese Kirin Group – will manufacture and distribute the beverage locally.
Australia has become the first country outside of Japan to receive the popular Kirin Hyoketsu brand.
The company says the Australian ready-to-drink (RTD) market has been expanding in recent years due to an increase in diversified consumption.
According to the Japan National Tourism Organisation, the number of Australian tourists visiting Japan is on the rise with Japanese food becoming a “trend” in Australia as well.
“Since launching in 2001, Kirin Hyoketsu has experienced phenomenal success in Japan, effectively revitalising the RTD category,” the company said in a statement.
“With Australia’s current appetite for all things Japan and RTDs, it is the ideal time to introduce a localised version of Kirin Hyoketsu so Aussies can experience first-hand what millions of Japanese already enjoy.”
