Australian Beer Co (ABCo) has taken full ownership of Ampersand Projects as it expands its presence in the Spirits & RTD categories. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
A subsidiary of Casella Family Brands, ABCo produces and distributes beer, cider, seltzer, and RTD brands such as Yenda, Pressman’s cider, Stirling Castle, and Poets.
Following the acquisition, Ampersand will now have access to all the resources of ABCo, allowing it to make necessary investments and take a long-term approach to maximise the potential of the brands.
Ampersand’s founders will remain in their roles to “propel the business forward.”
Founded in 2018 by Marcus Kellett, Shaun Rankins, and Alex Bottomley, Ampersand Projects is the company behind Vodka Soda & and it has sold more than 15 million cans since its inception.
Rankins shared that he sees the acquisition as more than just a business deal but a relationship that combines the strength of two independent companies with similar ideologies.
“With both companies valuing trust, integrity and respect, this acquisition will see unparalleled synergies and continued growth,” he added.
“Utilising Casella Family Brands’ legacy and time-tested expertise – this new relationship will maintain and deepen our customer and supplier relationships, remaining a proudly Independent Australian business.”
