Ampersand Estates has partnered with Wildlife Land Trust to launch Tomorrow’s Vintage, the first-ever wine that comes with a QR code for an official conservation agreement.
The Tomorrow’s Vintage Shiraz come in 2040, 2080, and 2100 versions, which are only filled 86 per cent, 56 per cent, and 44 per cent, respectively. The volume signifies the percentage of wine-growing regions projected to remain usable by the corresponding year.
Meanwhile, the QR code, when scanned, would open an invitation for buyers to sign the conservation agreement with the Wildlife Land Trust to help protect their land against environmentally harmful activities.
“If we don’t do something, good wine is one of the things we’ll lose,” said Ampersand Estates co-founder Corrie Scheepers.
“This is our way of saying the glass is still half full. We hope that Tomorrow’s Vintage prompts thought and action and it starts with protecting Australian land today,” said Ampersand Estates co-founder Melissa Bell.
The Tomorrow’s Vintage wine is available at tasting events and select Dan Murphy’s locations. Full 2021 bottles are also available for purchase.
