Specialty poultry producer Aurum Poultry has named John King its new General Manager.
King brings to the role his experience of more than seven years in sales, business development, and corporate management in organisations such as Clamms, Cleanseas Seafood, and Bidfood Austalia.
He also held several leadership roles within the hospitality industry at venues, including Terindah Estate on the Bellarine Peninsula and All Nations Hotel in Richmond.
At the same time, King has also worked in the kitchens of The Royal Mail Hotel, Dunkeld, Church St Enoteca, and The European in Melbourne’s CBD.
“My experience has assisted me in understanding the context of culture and philosophy in food production while also developing a realistic perspective around ethics, sustainability, and financial management,” King said upon his appointment.
He praised Aurum Poultry for its unique value proposition and its role as a vertically integrated food supplier, emphasising the company’s ability to mitigate food waste and its potential to redefine industry standards.
King aims to introduce a transformational management style to the company and ensure it remains a forward-thinking and respectful business.
“Ultimately, we want to continue to honour our poultry, our people, and our customers at Aurum Poultry Co., making it a part of our DNA – not to be compromised for short-term gain or a self-serving agenda,” he continued.
Sam Wong, director at Aurum Poultry Co., highlighted Kind’s appointment as a key strategy for the company’s future growth.
“John brings a level of knowledge, a wide range of experience, and a fresh perspective that we know will be hugely beneficial as we expand the business now and into the future,” Wong concluded.
