Pringles to resize chips packaging, retain volume

Pringles is introducing a smaller package for its 53g chips as it seeks to reduce its environmental impact.

From next month, the 53g potato chips will come in a shorter can with the same amount of product inside.

The 10 per cent height reduction of the can is expected to remove 37,000kg of packaging waste per year in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2022, Pringles already removed its plastic lid from the 53g can, replacing it with a tear-off seal.

“Pringles has a distinctive and iconic can, and we’re committed to maintaining quality while continuing to find ways to minimise our environmental footprint,” said Dan Bitti, Kellanova’s head of salty snacks.
