Fonterra Co-operative Group is preparing for the sale of its consumer and associated businesses.
“We have received meaningful buyer interest in the businesses in scope for divestment, which is a testament to their strength and potential,” said Miles Hurrell, Fonterra CEO.
“Through the scoping phase, we have assessed both a trade sale and IPO as attractive divestment options and will now prepare for a sale process which will pursue both options.”
In May, the cooperative said it partnered with a team of advisors to assess potential divestment options to strengthen its operations.
The divestment will allow Fonterra to focus on its ingredients and foodservice businesses.
