Former Westland Milk Products CEO Richard Wyeth has joined Synlait Milk as its new CEO, effective May 19.
Prior to his Westland Milk Products career, Wyeth was CEO of Miraka. He also held leadership positions at Coca-Cola Amatil and DB Breweries.
“The fact it’s now on track to return to profitability, after overcoming a list of challenges, reflects exceptional capability within the team,” said Wyeth about Synlait.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know Synlait’s farmers and staff to build on, and support, the turnaround story, which is already underway.”
Tim Carter will remain as acting CEO of Synlait Milk and will return to his role as CEO of the company’s subsidiary Dairyworks until Wyeth assumes his new position.
“Tim has played an instrumental role in driving this step change in the company’s performance and ensuring we are on track to return to profitability at half year,” said George Adams, Synlait chair.
Last October, Grant Watson resigned as CEO of Synlait Milk after being in the position since January 2022.
