The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a recall notice to Woolworths for a product from HTI Toys sold in its stores.

The four-pack ‘Stretcherz Stretch Squad’ toys contain sand, which may contain asbestos, the ACCC said.

“The sand inside the assorted character figures may cause a risk to health if the product is damaged and the sand is released as tremolite asbestos has been detected in some samples after laboratory testing,” it added.

HTI Toys originate in the UK. The company, which was founded in 1952, has eight distinct toy brands, one of which is Stretcherz.
