Australian wholesale distributor, Metcash, has acquired three Daly’s IGA stores in Victoria, which will continue to operate within the IGA network.
Daly’s IGA stores have been operating for more than 100 years. Its sites in Portland, Heywood, and Koroit will continue with the same staff and management remaining in place after the acquisition.
Metcash said that it may, over time, invest in improvements, equipment, systems, or refurbishments across the stores, the company said.
“We are thrilled to be able to retain these three high-quality supermarkets as part of the IGA network,” Grant Ramage, Metcash Food CEO, said. “We’re looking forward to working with the Daly’s IGA team and continuing to support the local communities they have been serving for generations.”
The deal is expected to be completed between late June and early July, Metcash said.
“We are incredibly proud to see our three stores welcomed into the Metcash family and to know the Daly’s brand, identity, values, and customer experience that our shoppers know and trust will continue,” Peter and Michael Daly, directors of Daly’s IGA Group, added.
