Australian Vintage re-appoints former CEO five months after he quit

Australian Vintage has named Craig Garvin, who left the company in May, as CEO, beginning October 14.

Garvin served as CEO of Australian Vintage from November 2019 until May this year, and departed citing a lack of judgement and conduct inconsistent with the company’s values. He previously served as CEO of Parmalat, the dairy company, for nearly a decade.

According to Australian Vintage’s chairman, James Williamson, the board of directors “felt it was important for Craig to be involved in the search process” after thoroughly examining the circumstances and processes surrounding his resignation.

“His appointment, after a difficult period for the company, highlights the board’s laser-like focus on restoring shareholder value,” said Williamson.

“Craig’s appointment positions us to strengthen the company and take advantage of opportunities in Australia and international markets.”

Margaret Zabel, chair of the board’s people, remuneration, and nomination committee, is certain that Garvin “is the right person to take Australian Vintage forward”.
