Chemmart will host its inaugural Masterclass professional development and training program this month.
According to Katie Fala, services manager, Chemmart, there has been an overwhelming response from pharmacists, with hundreds registered to attend the Masterclass event in April.
“There is a strong desire from our community of pharmacists to improve themselves and enhance their skills, particularly in relation to Chemmart’s dispensing philosophy and delivering patient- centric care at their pharmacy,” Fala said.
With an emphasis on customer communication, the program consists of research-based outcome oriented workshops, enabling pharmacists to problem solve barriers to customer engagement and empowering them to improve their professional practice through self and peer assessment.
“Pharmacists are medicines experts with the skills and knowledge to play a much greater role in primary health care. The Masterclass will equip Chemmart pharmacists with the know how to deliver this in their local community,” Fala said.
“By attending April’s Masterclass, pharmacists will also fulfil their yearly CPD requirements. We are thrilled that this first of its kind training program has been accredited for 63 Group 3 CPD credit points.”
The event will be held over three days from April 12 to 14 at the Pullman Melbourne.
The workshop will be facilitated by owner of Doubleview Chemmart Pharmacy and board member, John Bell, and will include presentations from Dr Abilio Neto, Dr Lesley Braun, Dr Stephen Carter, and Dr Vicky Kritikos.
