Dan Murphy’s adds to whisky range

unnamedDan Murphy’s has launched the Crown Royal Whisky premium ready to drink range in its stores, adding to its offering of more than 350 whiskies.

Crown Royal is one of North America’s best selling whisky brand and the new pre-mixed whiskies will showcase the same premium taste, reflecting the deluxe heritage of Crown Royal.

The range comes in two flavours, Crown Royal Whisky and Cola and Crown Royal Whisky and Dry.

Dan Murphy’s head of merchandise, Michael Jackson, said the latest innovation from Crown Royal transformed the traditional, smooth, elegant whisky into a modern drink.

“We are always looking to add to our extensive range of over 350 whiskies from around the world and Canadian Crown Royal is one we have had in our sights for a couple of years,” Jackson said.

“I think Australian whisky drinkers will love the new ready to drink range because of the unique taste profile.”

Crown Royal was created in 1939 to honour the royal grand tour of Canada by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.

According to Canadian law, Crown Royal Whisky must be mashed, distilled, and aged for three years in Canada.

It is made from milled corn, rye and malted barley, aged in seasoned and new, white oak and selected at its optimum maturity.

The finished product has a creamy taste of vanilla, caramel, cherry and oak.
