Dan Murphy’s celebrates local industry

wine, red, glassThe month of May signals Australia’s biggest wine celebration, Aussie Wine Month, and as the official partner, Dan Murphy’s, is joining with Wine Australia to celebrate the ‘Local Heroes’.

From this Friday, Dan’s customers can discover ‘Local Heroes’ through special instore displays and tastings across Australia with more than 3400 local Aussie wines available across the Dan Murphy’s stores.

This will be complemented with a buyer’s guide devoted to the stories and products of ‘Local Heroes’ from some of Australia’s favourite drink regions.

“Whether steeped in tradition or newer ventures, the wineries, distilleries and breweries being showcased share a passion for creating world class products that speak of their home and are true reflections of Australia’s exciting local industry,” says Dan Murphy’s drinks expert, Peter Nixon.

Some of the wineries and winemakers that will be part of the tastings include Taylors Wines, Clare Valley, SA; Peter Lehmann, Barossa, SA; Yarnbomb, McLaren Vale, SA; Chapel Hill, McLaren Vale, SA’ Stonyfell, Adelaide Hills, SA; Chateau Tanunda, Barossa Valley, SA; Brokenwood, Hunter Valley, NSW; Morris, Rutherglen, Victoria; Oakridge, Yarra Valley, Victoria, Franklin Tate Estate, Margaret River, WA; and Cullen, Margaret River, WA.

Tickets for the event are $30 and can be purchased via My Dan Murphy’s online.
