Naked Wines Australian founder promoted

Luke jecksLuke Jecks, founder of Naked Wines Australia, has been appointed CEO of Naked Wines International, which incorporates the US and UK entities of the crowd funded business.

Naked Wines was recently sold, in a deal worth $137 million (£70 million). Majestic Wine, the UK’s largest independent wine specialist, recently bought out Naked Wines’ previous investors, WIV. As part of the deal Rowan Gormley, founder of Naked Wines, became the new CEO of Majestic.

For the year ended December 31, 2014 sales of $145 million were up 40 per cent year on year. It currently has 300,000 customers funding over 130 winemakers, underpinned by large and growing wine markets.

Jecks launched Naked Wines Australia in July 2012.

Jecks will work closely with the managing directors of the US and UK businesses and will hold responsibility for the overall Naked Wines group performance. He will carry out the role of CEO based in Sydney, with international travel as needed.

Luke Jecks is speaking at Inside Retail Academy’s one day intensive conversion rate optimisation workshops to be held in Sydney on June 16 and Melbourne on June 17, designed to increase the success of retailer conversion rate optimisation strategies.
