Woolworths opens at Keysborough South Shopping Centre

Woolies CrownWoolworths has celebrated its grand opening at the Keysborough South Shopping Centre.

Woolies said their customers can look forward to an extensive international foods section to reflect the diverse local demographic.

“The store has been designed with the customer at heart following a great deal of time spent understanding what local shoppers are looking for,” said Woolworths Keysborough South Store manager, Aaron Ezekiel.

“Our aim is to always provide great quality, value and fresh options for all our customers and to make meal shopping and preparation easier. With this new store opening local customers can look forward to a modern and contemporary shopping experience.

“With 100 per cent of our fresh meat and 96 per cent of fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from Australia, the store has been designed to also showcase the wonderful seasonality of our produce and provide further food inspiration for our customers.”

According to Lincoln McConnell-Brown, senior principal and head of Asset Management at CRS Property, the new Keysborough South shopping centre will transform the Keysborough district – providing much-needed infrastructure and employment opportunities for local residents.

The property has 265 car parks, 1,247 square metres of specialty retail, including eight specialist shops, and the vast, modern 4,000 square metres of space occupied by Woolworths and BWS.

The Woolworths launch is a sign of a “thriving future” in an area that population analysts have predicted will grow from 2016 figures of 11,000 people in the main trade area, to an estimated 14,500 people by 2021.

As part of the opening celebrations, Keysborough High School students sang the national anthem and presentations have donated $1,000 to both the local Parkmore Soccer Club and Keysborough Primary School.

Woolies has given $20 gift cards for the first 200 customers through the door as well as various giveaways and games took place, including free coffee and free food samples throughout the day.

The Keysborough South store, is a passionate supporter of OzHarvest. By working alongside charitable organisations such as OzHarvest, Woolworths can continue to support local communities by helping feed people who often go without.

Opening hours for Woolworths Keysborough South are 7am until midnight.
