Woolworths is expanding its exclusive pantry lineup, adding more than 70 new or updated products across three distinct ‘private-label’ brands.

The three brands are inspired by Italian, Mexican and Asian flavours in the grocery sectors. The labels are:

  • La Gina: Focused on Italian staples, including pasta, ready-to-use sauces, oils, and antipasti like olives.
  • La Mesita: A Mexican-inspired range featuring taco kits, tortillas, salsas, and simmer sauces.
  • Lantern Alley: An Asian-themed collection including Hokkien noodles, soy sauce, and condiments like fried shallots.

The move is part of the supermarket’s ongoing Own Brand strategy, targeting home cooks and young families looking for cheaper alternatives to name-brand essentials for common weeknight meals.

“Australians have such a diverse appetite thanks to many multicultural influences,” said Jackie Fourie, director of product and innovation at Woolworths. “Taco Tuesdays, an easy stir fry or a spag bol are as much Aussie dinner staples as ‘meat and veggies’.”

The La Gina and La Mesita ranges are now available across Woolworths, while the Lantern Alley line is scheduled to arrive during April.
