Top Aussie products recognised

Fine Foods Australia 2017Nom Noms World Food has taken top honour at Fine Food Australia’s Best New Product Awards, beating out Noshu Foods’ sugar free cake mixes and Margaret River’s ‘rok’ beverage.

The Fine Foods Award is the latest in a line of awards Nom Nom’s range of read-made meals has won in the last few years, as the company continues to take advantage of consumer shifts towards ready-made products that tout health credentials.

The awards were judged  by a panel of industry experts from across major food service and industry mastheads, winners range from those showcasing “ground breaking” technology to healthy food for kids.

The Best New Bakery Product was awarded to Ordermentum’s food and beverage ordering app, having processed more than $3 million in payments per month across 150 FMCG suppliers and 6000 retailers.

Best New Food Service product was given to DriveYello, a company that assists FMCG suppliers with last mile logistics, specifically focusing on express delivery.

Best New Hospitality Equipment Product was awarded to Shepherd Filters, a system that captures airborne grease before it enters kitchen exhaust systems.

“2017 has been a huge year for our industry and the number of new products we’ve seen entered reflects that,” said event director Minnie Constan.

“We’ve also seen key trends such as the ongoing sugar-free and healthy alternatives movements reflected, and of course an ongoing focus on innovation and technology. What was common across all categories was a clear focus on creating products that meet consumer demands, regardless of whether the customer is from within or outside of the industry.

“The Best New Product Awards have again demonstrated that this is breaking ground and creating some incredibly innovative products. These awards are as much about celebrating this great industry as much as it is about recognition of particularly great new products,” she continued.
