Streets receives “ridiculous” no. of product requests

Paddle Pop

Paddle Pop is re-releasing an old line in a limited-time offer after more than 17 years, amid intensifying consumer interest in the Bionic Bubble Gum flavour.

Woolies, Coles and convenience stores will stock the ice creams in single serve or ten serve packs for $1.50 and $6.99; respectively.

The company did not say how long the limited-edition launch would last, or when products would hit shelves, but the announcement does come amid a wave of intensifying pressure on FMCG companies to give into consumer demands over discontinued products.

Cadbury owner Mondelez International has been subjected to several consumer campaigns to re-release its chocolate swirl block in recent months.

Streets Ice Cream marketing manager Scott Mingl said there’s been a “ridiculous” number of requests to bring back the product.

“It wasn’t out of the blue that Bionic Bubble Gum was the next old favourite Paddle Pop to re-release,” said Scott Mingl, marketing manager at Streets Ice Cream.

“Ever since Caramel Choc Dip hit the shelves we’ve had a ridiculous number of requests to bring Bionic Bubble Gum back too. We can’t wait for Paddle Pop lovers to take a trip down memory lane and share them with younger generations too.”
