The new store offers more food choices for people on the go with everything from create-your-own poke bowls to curries and roasts.
Managing director Food Co, Fuel and Metro, Steve Greentree said, “Woolworths has been testing and learning to refine the Metro offer over the last five years. The launch of our Metro Pitt St store brings together what we’ve learnt and sets the benchmark for our Metro stores moving forward.”
“Woolworths Metro is about creating a supermarket experience that is locally relevant, no matter where it is. We are pleased with how customers have responded to our Metro offer and are always looking for ways that we can improve to make it an even better, more contemporary offering.”
The store want to offer customers a different meal every day of the week with a range of choices including an expansive fresh food section, a cafe serving barista made coffee, a deli, bakery, sushi, and even a dedicated area to the Macro range.
It also means more affordable lunch options for CBD workers with $9 Lunch Deals. There is dedicated seating space for those who want to eat in-store and even phone charging tables.
The stores are designed for a top-up or emergency shop so there is easier access at the front of the store for convenience. 28 self-serve checkouts make it easy to get in and out quickly during lunch breaks.
The new store is open Monday to Friday: 6am – 10pm and Saturday & Sunday from 7am – 10pm.
