Grape grower-owned collective Winegrapes has partnered with The Group to launch a new premium wine range of Grower Wines. Australian chef Matt Moran will be ambassador for the brand.

The Group is the product of about 100 grape-growing families from top Australian wine regions, including McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills.  The new range is intended to support the livelihood of the growers and facilitate the sharing of knowledge between them.

“I grew up on the farm and I’ve always had a passion for sourcing great quality produce to create great tasting food,” said Moran. “Like paddock-to-plate, Grower Wines by The Group represent an exciting movement in the Australian wine industry.

“The group’s collaboration with a grower-owned collective paves the way for the hard-working growers and supports the local, real people behind the label. Establishing these connections is how you create honest, authentic and quality produce – whether it’s food or wine.”

The range is now available at Liquorland and First Choice Liquor Market stores throughout Australia.

“Grower Wines by The Group represents a new movement in the Australian wine industry,” said Constellation Brands VP of commercial development Rowan Dean. “By partnering with the grower-owned collective (Winegrapes), we are able to create a wine brand that exists with the growers firmly at the centre.”

There are four core varietals in the new range: The Murder 2017 McLaren Vale Shiraz, The Shadow 2019 Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir, The Quiver 2019 McLaren Vale Grenache and The Fever 2018 McLaren Vale Grower Blend, along with a limited-edition varietal, The Siege 2019 McLaren Vale Shiraz.

The four standard wines have an RRP of $34 a bottle, while The Siege is priced at $70.
