Murray River Organics CEO quits, replacement named

Birol Akgogan, the new interim CEO at Murray River Organics.

The CEO and MD of Murray River Organics Group (MRG), Valentina Tripp, has resigned after leading the group through a three-year long restructure.

Birol Akgogan, CFO at MRG, (pictured above), will serve as interim CEO while a review is completed by the MRG board, with Tripp continuing to be available for the next three months to assist with transition.

MRG chairman Andrew Monk said Tripp has built and developed a highly capable team of people, overseeing the restructure, recapitalisation and strategic repositioning of the company as a leading organic FMCG business.

“Val is a top 30 shareholder and we are pleased that she has indicated she will continue to invest in MRG’s future,” Monk said.

“We have achieved a lot over the last three years whilst navigating some uncertain external shocks and legacy issues,” said Tripp.

“After three big years, I have decided to take some time out with my family and will be seeking to develop my non-executive career and other opportunities.”
