Patties Foods buys healthy ready-meals business

Paul Hitchcock, CEO of Patties Foods, with some of the products from Fitness Outcomes.

Four’N’Twenty pies parent Patties Foods has bought ready-to-eat meals business Fitness Outcomes, boosting its group turnover to almost $500 million.

The acquisition will see the manufacturing of 20 chilled and frozen SKUs transferring to Patties Foods’ Packenham and Australian Wholefood sites during the next two months.

Fitness Outcomes had run out of production capacity after experiencing strong demand from consumers seeking healthy, prepared meal options. Sales growth was running ahead of that of the overall ready-to-eat meals category.

Patties Foods will take over full responsibility for all sales, marketing and product development of the Fitness Outcomes brand, whose products are sold in Woolworths and Coles stores Australia wide, direct to consumers online and at fitness centres and gyms.

“Fitness Outcomes will play an important role in catering to a new demographic and growing our sales in both the frozen and chilled meals categories,” said Patties Foods group CEO Paul Hitchcock.

The new products will join Patties Foods’ Weight Watchers and Ruffle Rustic Foods brands in its ready meals portfolio.
