Snacks made from popped lotus seeds launched through Woolworths

UK-based snack brand Karma Bites is expanding its footprint into Australia with the launch of the lotus seeds snack range at Woolworths.

Featuring three flavours – Himalayan Salt, Peri Peri and Caramel – Karma Bites says the product is nutritious and contains high protein, low fat and 100 calories per 25g bag. The lotus seeds snack is gluten-free, vegan, has no added sugar and is free from artificial ingredients.

Ashwin Ahuja, founder of Karma Bites, was struggling to find healthy-but-tasty snacks and was inspired by his family’s like of lotus seed.

After launching in the UK and 20 other countries, Ahuja and his partner David Burns brought Karma Bites to Australia a year ago, aiming to bring a healthier and better lifestyle to consumers.

“After stumbling across Karma Bites at the Anuga Food Show in Germany in October 2019, I noticed a gap in the Australian market for a unique, funky snack brand and knew it would pop off shelves,” said Burns. “We’re thrilled to have Woolworths on board as a stockist of Karma Bites, sharing the good Karma to their customers and celebrating a new healthy way to snack.”

The Karma Bites range is now available at Woolworths and the brand’s website with an RRP of $2.95 per pack.
