Australian frozen food brand Mr Chen’s has entered the UK market with the launch of its dumpling range in selected Tesco stores.

Founded in Australia in 1982, the family-owned business is bringing a selection of frozen Asian products to British consumers as part of its international expansion.

The UK range includes pork and chive dumplings, prawn hargow, honey soy chicken dumplings, barbecue pork buns, Shanghai soup dumplings and prawn and chive wontons, all with an RRP of £4.25.

Mr Chen’s was founded by Peter Chen and is now led by his daughters, Nancy and Lucy Chen. The company has developed its Australian business around frozen dumplings and Asian-inspired convenience foods.

Nancy Chen, co-CEO of Mr Chen’s, said the move into the UK marked an important stage in the brand’s expansion.

Meanwhile, the company has continued to expand its product portfolio in Australia. In June, Mr Chen’s entered the supermarket meal kit category with the launch of an Asian-inspired mac and cheese range.
