Winners revealed in Apco sustainable packaging awards

Top Australian businesses were recognised at last night’s Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (Apco) Annual Awards event for sustainable packaging design and innovation.

The awards celebrate businesses that have “gone above and beyond” to implement sustainability practices within their industry.

Participants from industries including agriculture, nurseries, electronics, healthcare and manufacturing were judged for their packaging design, recycling initiatives and product stewardship programs.

Arnott’s Group won the Sustainable Packaging Excellence Award while Sarah Baylis from Fonterra Brands won the Sustainability Champion Award for leading the New Zealand ARL implementation program.

Mars Australia won the Outstanding Achievement award for recycled content while Emeis Cosmetics won the same award for design and procurement. The Highest-Performing New Members award was shared between Hilton Foods Australia and Australian Garlic Producers.
