Unilever’s CFO, Graeme Pitkethly, will retire by the end of May next year, after a 21-year career.
Pitkethly joined Unilever in 2002 and was previously the executive VP and GM of the Unilever UK and Ireland business.
He has also held numerous senior financial and commercial roles within Unilever including senior VP of finance for global markets, global head of M&A, head of treasury, pensions and tax and was the CFO of Unilever Indonesia.
Unilever CEO, Alan Jope, thanked Pitkethly for his “tremendous contribution” to the company in the last 21 years.
“As CFO, he has brought great leadership to our company and been instrumental in sharpening our strategy and driving a step-up in our operational performance.”
Unilever chairman, Nils Andersen, described Pitkethly as a “strong and dynamic leader” and a “highly valued member” of the board throughout the last eight years.
The board will commence a formal internal and external search for his successor.
