KitKat brings back its plant-based chocolate bar

KitKat brings back its plant-based chocolate bar

KitKat is bringing back the plant-based version of its chocolate wafer bar, offering consumers the same taste without the dairy.

KitKat Plant Based combines crispy wafers with a rice-based milk alternative to create an “indulgent-tasting, vegan-certified” chocolate.

It made its debut in 2019 to address the increasing demand for plant-based confectionery.

Melanie Chen, head of marketing confectionery at Nestle, said the plant-based version of KitKat was one of the most requested products, and the brand is excited to bring the treat back.

“We’ve experienced an outpouring of demand on our socials for the return of KitKat Plant Based,” said Chen.

“We can’t wait to give people more opportunities and ways to enjoy their favourite break with a vegan milk alternative, delivering the classic KitKat snap they know and love.”

The limited-edition KitKat Plant Based is available in a four-finger wafer bar (41.5g at RRP$3) exclusively at Coles stores nationwide and KitKat Chocolatory online.

Nestle did not comment on why the line was not returned on a permanent basis given its popularity.
