Tasmanian milk brand Betta Milk unveils lactose-free milks

Tasmania’s company Betta Milk has added a high-protein lactose-free milk range to its existing product lineup.

The new high-protein lactose-free full-cream milk contains 50 per cent more protein than Betta’s regular full-cream milk and is enriched with essential amino acids that promote metabolism and help build and repair muscle mass.

The company’s milk is treated to remove the lactose enzyme which usually causes digestive issues such as bloating, indigestion and gas.

Scott Hadley, CEO of TasFoods – the parent company of Betta Milk – said lactose-free products are “fast gaining popularity” for their easy digestibility.

“We saw an opportunity to meet both trends with a delicious-tasting staple that appeals to those with lactose intolerance as well as those pursuing a healthier lifestyle.”

The company has also introduced lactose-free flavours to its flavoured milk offer – Betta Jive lactose-free chocolate and Plus Double Espresso.
