Single O’s Dan Nutton venture into craft chocolate with Silver Street

Coffee roaster Single O ventures into craft chocolate with Silver Street

Dan Nutton, head roaster at coffee company Single O, has entered the craft chocolate market by launching Silver Street, a new brand of small-batch single-origin chocolate.

The range is available in a limited-edition bundle, which comprises Single O Kenya Kabingara coffee beans with Silver Street’s Uganda 68 per cent dark chocolate.

According to the company, its head roaster Dan Nutton was instrumental in establishing the “incredibly high” standard of coffee it produces and has now embarked on the bean-to-bar chocolate with Silver Street.

“The similarities between specialty coffee and specialty chocolate are rooted in deep passion and meticulous craftsmanship,” explained Nutton.

“Both begin with selecting the finest raw materials and delicately coaxing their unique flavours,  a rigorous process that celebrates nature’s essence, whether in a cup of perfectly brewed coffee or a square of rich, handcrafted chocolate.”

Bean-to-bar refers to small-scale craft chocolate makers that control every process step, from sourcing cacao beans to roasting the chocolate bar.

Single O’s coffee and Silver Street chocolate are single-origin, with the Kenya Kambingara coffee hailing from the Karithathi farmers cooperative that unveils flavours of lemony zest and sweetness of cherries.

Meanwhile, the dark chocolate is sourced from the Semuliki forest in Uganda, offering distinct notes of fig, raisin, and black grape.

The Silver Street x Single O bundle is available online for an RRP of $30.
