Launceston brewery James Boag has released a mid-strength lager Boag’s St George 3.5, a variation of the traditional St George full-strength.

The St George 3.5 is the brewer’s first range addition since 2004 and was tested at a few chosen locations in Tasmania before launch.

John Burchill, Tasmanian state sales manager, said the introduction of St George 3.5 underscores the brewery’s commitment to meeting the evolving preferences of beer drinkers.

“Every drop of Boag’s St George 3.5 will be brewed in our brewery in Launceston. Excitingly, we’re already receiving fantastic feedback from consumers and customers alike and look forward to many more Tasmanians enjoying a Boag’s St George 3.5.”

James Boag is a popular brand of Sydney-based beverage company Lion, which recently became the first large-scale carbon-neutral brewer in Australia.
