Dairy company A2 Milk has deepened its long-standing partnership with China State Farm Agribusiness Holding Shanghai Co (CSFA) to include English-label (EL) infant formula in the cross-border e-commerce channel.
The initial rollout will focus on the premium A2 Genesis product, with other EL formulas, including A2 Platinum, set to follow.
Under the new agreement, CSFA will act as the exclusive import agent and master distributor for EL products, enabling The A2 Milk to streamline logistics, expand its retail presence, and leverage the state-owned enterprise’s reputation to build consumer confidence.
Launched in the second half of this year, A2 Genesis targets the fast-growing human-milk-oligosaccharides (HMO) segment, focusing on gut health and immunity.
CEO David Bortolussi called the move “a key factor in the company’s China strategy,” while CSFA Chairman Zhang Lei described the arrangement as a “leading example of successful cooperation in the dairy nutrition sector”.
The expanded agreement was formalised at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, following a year of preparation.
In September, A2 Milk completed its $282 million purchase of Yashili New Zealand’s Pokeno nutritional manufacturing facility from China’s Mengniu Dairy Group.
