Pure Foods Tasmania (PFT) has acquired Elato Ice Cream in a strategic move to expand its frozen desserts portfolio.

Under the acquisition, PFT obtains all intellectual property and brand assets of Elato Ice Cream, including recipes, formulations and distribution arrangements, with the intention of establishing an Ice Cream Division.

This division will combine Elato Ice Cream with PFT’s existing frozen‑dessert asset, The Cashew Creamery, offering both dairy-and plant-based ice-cream products.

As part of the deal structure, the founder of Elato Ice Cream, Roz Kaldor‑Aroni, will be appointed as GM of the new division, overseeing its product development, manufacturing and sales growth strategy.

“The acquisition of Elato after only four years in the market is validation that award-winning products which focus on innovation and community support are appealing to not only the ice cream buying public but also to like-minded innovators like PFT,” said Kaldor‑Aroni.

Founded with a mission to combat global hunger and minimise food waste, Elato Ice Cream emphasises authentic texture while cutting sugar and eliminating artificial additives.

The brand is sold at select Woolworths Supermarkets, Woolworths Metro stores, and independent retailers, and has earned multiple awards since its inception.
