Foodcare, a food and beverage manufacturer and distributor, is upgrading its packaging capacity through the acquisition of Upac.

The acquisitor says Upac brings over 50 years of food packaging experience and technical expertise, particularly in printed food packaging, including custom bags and flexibles.

Foodcare said the acquisition marks a significant strategic step and reinforces its market position by strengthening its product and technical expertise in the critical area of food packaging.

The combined entity will offer higher-value, consultative solutions, helping customers navigate complex packaging requirements and compliance standards, according to the company.

Foodcare CEO Garry Pagden said the move is focused on delivering more value and more reliable services to customers.

“By combining Upac’s deep product knowledge and long experience with Foodcare’s legendary in-stock promise and customer service, we are creating a powerful single-source solution,” he said.

Gavin Wilson, co-founder and owner of Upac, said joining Foodcare is an exciting next chapter for the business.

“Our team’s passion for food packaging and technical understanding will now be backed by Foodcare’s robust logistics and service network,” he added.

The acquisition is expected to close on February 2, subject to customary conditions.
