Nestlé USA is launching a consumer condiment brand, expanding a foodservice range into the FMCG market.

Minor’s Kitchen is a chef-inspired sauce range developed from its existing Minor’s portfolio, which supplies bases, stocks, sauces, and seasonings to professional kitchens.

Nestle says the move positions the brand to compete more directly with established condiment players such as Kraft Heinz, Unilever, and McCormick & Company.

Nelson Peña, president of Nestlé’s Global Culinary Kitchen, sees the culinary space as an opportunity for growth.

“We’re positioned to be able to win in this particular space,” Peña told Food Dive.

The range will launch with four flavours: Lemon Garlic Aioli, Creamy Korean BBQ, Spicy Chili Truffle, and American Smokehouse.

According to Nestlé, Minor’s Kitchen contains no artificial colours, artificial flavours, or high-fructose corn syrup.

“It’s actually a very versatile type of sauce,” Peña added.

“One of the things that is really interesting about this particular product that’s different from the rest is the versatility of how you can use it.”
