Australian spirits brand The Ben Buckler Whisky Company has appointed Kristy Bloomfield as its new CEO and co-founder.
Bloomfield joins the company with a background in the premium spirits and beverage sectors.
She previously held an executive role as CMO at Sullivans Cove Distillery, and before joining the company, she was in the same role for the global division at Lyre’s Spirit Co, a non-alcoholic spirits brand.
As The Ben Buckler Whisky’s new CEO, Bloomfield will oversee commercial scaling and strategic growth.
The appointment marks a transition for the company as it moves into a new phase of domestic and international expansion.
Founded by Australian television personality Larry Emdur, the Ben Buckler Whisky was established as a personal project to produce a limited batch of 60 bottles for Emdur’s 60th birthday.
The brand expanded into a commercial enterprise following consumer and commercial interest, and its brand name is derived from the Bondi headland in Sydney.
The brand has secured national distribution within Australia through wholesale networks, Paramount Liquor and ALM Connect.
Its retail presence includes regional venues in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as Heinemann Duty Free.
To support its next growth phase, The Ben Buckler is preparing for an upcoming capital raise, which is intended to expand domestic distribution channels, build presence within premium hospitality and retail markets, and develop export opportunities.
