Bakery chain Bakers Delight has appointed a new chief retail operations officer, Fiona Donnellan.
Donnellan joins the business after a 14-year career with Aldi. Most recently she was director of national store operations (projects) having previously worked across store operations and warehouse logistics in a number of leadership roles.
Her LinkedIn profile states as a director of store operations, Donnellan held P&L accountability for a $3 billion+ business unit, exercising the strategic oversight typical of a GM or COO.
She wrote of her move to Bakers Delight: “I’m incredibly humbled to have this opportunity and to be able to contribute to this organisation.”
Elise Gillespie, Bakers Delight joint CEO told Inside FMCG‘s sister title Franchise Executives: “Fiona brings extensive retail leadership experience from her senior roles at Aldi, where she has led large, complex operations with a strong focus on consistency, customer experience and commercial performance.
“While new to franchising, Fiona will offer a fresh perspective and strong commercial discipline, alongside a clear understanding that success at Bakers Delight is built on strong partnerships with our franchisees and supporting profitable, sustainable bakeries,” Gillespie said.
There are more than 500 stores in the Bakers Delight network in Australia.
