Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) has invested $39.7 million to upgrade its manufacturing facility in Kewdale, WA.
The project includes a new can production line that increases manufacturing capacity by over 40 per cent, allowing production speeds to rise from about 1060 cans per minute to 1500 cans per minute.
During peak periods, the upgraded line will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with an annual capacity of 16 million cases, or roughly 384 million cans.
The new technology also improves water and energy efficiency and offers better automation and production flexibility.
Tom Schiebling, director of manufacturing at CCEP, said the investment reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to Western Australia by supporting local jobs and maintaining Kewdale as a key site within the national manufacturing network.
“This upgrade is one of the largest investments in Kewdale’s recent history and reflects our long-term belief in manufacturing in Western Australia,”
“As we head into summer, this line will operate around the clock to help ensure Western Australians can continue enjoying the beverages they know and love,” said Schiebling.
Operating for over 50 years, the Kewdale facility employs 300 people and serves as CCEP’s fourth-largest manufacturing site in Australia.
In addition to the infrastructure upgrades, the facility has introduced a flexible part-time manufacturing employment model, which attracted over 900 applications during its initial intake, aiming to broaden workforce participation.
