Haiver Spirits taps into RTD with launch of hard tea range

Boutique distiller Haiver Spirits has launched Haiver Hard Tea, marking its first entry into the ready-to-drink (RTD) market.

Founder Matthew Anastassiou said the move was driven by a gap in the local market for a brewed hard tea that balances refreshment with crafted flavour.

“Unlike what’s already available, instead of simply blending tea with spirits, I’ve brewed it on a beer base,” he continued.

“This was an intentional move to give the product a silky, full-bodied mouthfeel that feels much closer to real iced tea – crisp and refreshing.”

Produced in Victoria, the range will launch nationally with two flavours at an ABV of 4.5 per cent

  • Summer Peach – a blend of peach, nectarine and citrus blossom with a fresh, fruity finish.
  • Tropical – featuring pineapple, mango, passionfruit, coconut and lime for a bright, zesty profile.

“Haiver has never been about doing things the conventional way,” Anastassiou added. “We wanted to create something that feels new but also instantly familiar, like the iced tea you know and love, just slightly carbonated and a little boozier.”

Haiver Hard Tea is available in 300ml cans for an RRP of $26 per four-pack online and through select retailers.
