Freshmax to debut improved kiwiberries

kiwiberryFresh produce marketer and distributor, Freshmax Group, are poised to launch an improved variety of their kiwiberries, due to be harvested at the end of February.

The company, who last year debuted the Lani cherry, says this year’s batch of kiwiberries will be sweeter due to a higher brix level than last season-a consequence of the warm and dry conditions of New Zealand during the summer.

Increased produce and renewed orchard management are also driving improvement for this season’s kiwiberry harvest.

“This season not only will we see more kiwiberries available for export but also cleaner fruit due to an improved focus on the orchards around canopy covers”, said Tracey Burns, export manager, Freshmax.
