Aussie Farmers Direct, Daily Fresh tie up

aussie-farmers-direct-fruit-boxLeading Australian online retailer Aussie Farmers Direct has partnered with Daily Fresh Food Service in a deal that will add hundreds of fresh produce lines to the food delivery service range.

Under the new partnership with Aussie Farmers Direct, Daily Fresh’s customers will now be able to include fresh fruit and vegetables in their order. Aussie Farmers Direct will pick the fruit and veg orders at their Rosehill depot, and send them across to Daily Fresh’s Regents Park warehouse to be consolidated into a single customer order.

Keith Louie, CEO of Aussie Farmers Direct, said that moving into wholesale partnerships was a natural extension of the retailer’s national fresh produce supply-chain capability.

“Over the past ten years, Aussie Farmers Direct has found a loyal customer base who share our values of supporting farmers and sourcing 100% Australian grown fresh produce,” Louie said.

“In the food industry, fresh produce is probably the hardest thing to do well. Over ten years, we’ve developed a sophisticated fresh produce supply chain, along with a skilled team of buyers. These are attractive assets for food wholesalers looking to add fresh fruit and vegetables to their existing product range.”

Manuel Meletis, managing director of Daily Fresh Food Service, said the deal with Aussie Farmers Direct provided the “missing link” for Daily Fresh’s customers.

“This is a product range we’ve not been able to offer before, and it gives us a great advantage in the market and at the same time provides our customers with the convenience of a one stop shop for all their food needs in one delivery,” Meletis said.

Daily Fresh Food Service, one of NSW’s leading food services businesses, has thousands of customers, including over 400 schools. It currently offers customers over 5,000 food lines, including dry goods, frozen goods, smallgoods, meat, poultry, dairy, seafood, packaging and cleaning products.

The Daily Fresh Food Service/Aussie Farmers Direct partnership comes into effect from May 2.
