Pukka’s new green tea range

pukka teaHerbal tea brand, Pukka, has introduced four new green teas to its collection.

Three of these have been supercharged with matcha powder – known to contain 100 times the antioxidants of regular green tea or spinach.

One of Pukka’s best-selling teas, supreme matcha green, is joined by brand new ginseng matcha green, while mint matcha green (formerly cool mint green) and clean matcha green (formerly clean green) are reformulated old favourites. Another addition is sweet vanilla green.

Matcha is a special form of powdered green tea that comes from the same plant as regular, whole leaf green tea. Recognised as a superfood, it contains high levels of antioxidants as well as various compounds associated with improving health, reducing stress and increasing alertness. The difference between matcha and regular green tea lies in the unusual cultivation and processing methods, making matcha the “king of green”, according to Pukka’s co-founder and master herbalist, Sebastian Pole.

“Our matcha is grown on an organic farm on a beautiful volcanic island off the coast of South Korea and is grown in the shade for a few weeks before being harvested.  The stem and veins are then removed before being powdered into the finest verdant grains that dissolve easily in water,” he said.

Like all teas in Pukka’s collection, the new green teas were created by sourcing the ingredients from more than 50 countries around the world that are sustainably grown, harvested, and fairly traded. Pukka teas are all certified organic.
