Freedom Foods signs deal with Seamild Group China

oatsFreedom Foods has signed a new deal with oat-based cereal and food manufacturer Seamild Group.

Under the new agreement, Freedom Foods will help China-based Seamild expand its range of branded products to include value-added oat cereals as well as oat cluster and oat-based snacking products. The first of these products should be available in the second half of 2017.

In a statement this morning, Freedom Foods confirmed that Seamild recognises Australia as an important source of high quality oat and cereal products.

“For the past 10 years, Seamild has sourced high quality raw oats from Western Australia for processing and packaging in China,” the company said.

“The reducing tariffs on imported products under the China Australia Free Trade Agreement will increase Australia’s competiveness against other markets. Cereal products into China will have tariffs reducing to zero over the remaining three year period.”

The collaboration will also extend to expanding marketing and distribution of Freedom Foods branded products in China, as well as any other potential strategic linkages in the future.
