Dr. Oetker releases new frozen pizza flavours

Dr. Oetker pizzaDr. Oetker has unveiled three innovative frozen pizza flavours including the chocolate dessert pizza, pizza ‘Bianca’ and Nachos pizza.

Dr. Oetker’s frozen marketing manager, Paula Wyatt, said before Ristorante launched in 2010 the frozen pizza category was dormant for 40 years and seen as low quality.

“Ristorante has started to change consumer expectations by delivering an authentic pizzeria taste and we will continue to do so by launching new exciting flavours,” explains Wyatt.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring yet more choice to the local market, and these ground breaking introductions are testament to Dr. Oetker’s promise to deliver premium quality, delicious flavours that reinvigorate this food category.”

The Ristorante Dolce Al Cioccolato (RRP $7.50) is a sweet pizza usually only made by the most traditional Italian pizzerias. It has prompted Dr. Oetker Ristorante to make a move into the dessert domain and to give pizza lovers a way to satisfy their sweet tooth at home.

This decadent addition is a chocolate version of Ristorante’s signature thin and crispy crust, deliciously topped with gooey choc sauce, milk chocolate flakes and dark and white chocolate chunks. Delicious on its own, just add fruit and ice cream to make it even more scrumptious for an after dinner dessert.

Dr. Oetker Ristorante also offers Pizza Bianca Carne e Patata (RRP $7.50). This unique flavour includes crunchy potato chips, smokey ham, aromatic red onions and mozzarella cheese on a creamy white sauce. It’s the only frozen pizza available in Australia with a white sauce, made from rich sour cream, rather than the standard tomato base. Dr. Oetker found a gap in the market for this type of pizza that’s only usually made at traditional Italian restaurants.

Meanwhile, one of Australia’s oldest frozen pizza brands Papa Giuseppi’s, founded in 1973, will also launch a new Nachos flavour (RRP $7.99) as part of the Bakehouse Crust range. The limited edition option, to replace the cheeseburger flavour, is topped with spicy pork, kidney beans, sweetcorn, red and green capsicum, crunchy corn chips, sour cream, cheese and herbs on a spicy tomato sauce.

The new Dr. Oetker pizza flavours will be available in supermarkets nationwide this October.
