Woolworths adds to eco-friendly range
The oral care company said in a statement the WooBamboo’s soft and medium bristled bamboo toothbrushes are available in over 900 selected grocery stores.
Erskine Oral Care said Woolworths is making strides in sustainable areas including setting the date to abolish single use plastic bags. The recent partnership also allows consumers to have other options to help save the environment.
“Every plastic toothbrush handle ever used still exists somewhere, in Australia alone it is estimated over 30 million toothbrushes are used and disposed of each year, resulting as landfill or ending up in our oceans,” said the national sales manager of Erskine Oral Care, the Australian distributor of Woobamboo products, Katrina Conley.
“Australians are looking for sustainable alternatives that don’t compromise on quality, and don’t break the bank. Woobamboo is the answer to a growing demand for eco-friendly brushes within the Australian market. Partnering with Woolworths ensures we can now provide more people with the option to make a difference.”
The bristles are not full biodegradable as the company said on the website it doesn’t want to jeopardise quality.
Since their launch five years ago on Earth Day (April 22) 2013, WooBamboo has grown its line of bamboo toothbrushes for families and pets.
