ALDI UK has launched an online spirit shop with 39 lines available for home delivery.
The mostly private label range includes liqueurs, gin, whiskey, rum and brandy, with some online exclusives; all of which are available to buy in cases of six or more mixed with wine.
It’s more than two years since ALDI launched its UK online business with wine and Specialbuys. The store has won several awards for its spirits over the years prompting the addition to the online range.
According to researchers at ShopperVista, 25 per cent of food discount shoppers went to the store on their last trip specifically to buy alcohol. ALDI are meeting this demand and making the category more accessible for new and existing shoppers. Sales are expected to soar in the run up to Christmas as consumers avoid chaos at the shops.
ALDI previously operated an online liquor business in Australia but it closed in 2016.
