Woolworths appoints Andrew Hicks as CMO

Woolworths Group has named Andrew Hicks as its new chief marketing officer.

Hicks will be challenged with utilising marketing and brand expertise across the Group to bring a better experience to customers.

Hicks joined the group in 2008 as national marketing manager of Dan Murphy’s before moving into the role of general manager, marketing of Woolworths liquor group in 2012, and most recently director of marketing for food and supermarkets.

Commenting on Hicks’ appointment, Woolworths Group CEO Brad Banducci said he is well placed to meet the needs of the changing consumer.

“The ways our customers interact with us are rapidly evolving. Our customers are becoming more digitally enabled and increasingly interact with our brands across multiple touchpoints – be it through our mobile app, website, Woolworths Rewards, catalogue, in-store or via social media,”
Banducci said.

“Given Andrew’s marketing experience across many aspects of our Group over the last few years, he is well placed to drive the next horizon of our brand and marketing agenda.”

Hicks said he is “excited for the next chapter’ at Woolworths Group.

“We have a responsibility to ensure our customers have a consistent brand experience across every touchpoint they have with us. This is critical to our future success and I look forward to working even closer with the great team of marketers and communications specialists we have across the Group to help achieve this,” he said.
